My name is Nyd Kraushaar.  I am the artist, founder and owner of Cascading Colors where I share my experiences and musings through painting, and other mediums.  Art has always been an important part of my life.  Currently i’ve been using alcohol inks on yupo paper.   The colors, textures, and the way the alcohol ink flows communicate to me with endless challenges and possibilities.

 Growing up in the Wind River Mountains in central Wyoming, I saw beauty every day.  The changing moods of he mountains, fields, streams and people were like a museum of dynamic images, evoking emotions and memories.  Sometimes, those who view my work react the same way I felt while creating the artwork.  However, everyone reacts to what they see throught their own lenses of feelings, memories and emotions.

I worked for many years as a marriage, family, and child therapist, specializing in children who’ve been abused.  Art was the quickest way I found to move through the healing process.  With direction, they fought their own crippling emotions and thoughts.  That way, they were able to change their own paintings.  When my work touches others, I am able to create essential human connections.
